Postnatal Care in Ayurveda – “Nurturing New Life, the Natural Way” — Ayurvedic Care for Mother and Baby.

The postnatal period, or Sutika Kala, is a sacred window for healing and regeneration. Ayurvedic postnatal care focuses on restoring vitality to the new mother by supporting her physical, emotional, and spiritual recovery after childbirth. Whether the delivery is natural or via cesarean, our customized care programs are aimed at strengthening the mother, enhancing lactation, and fostering deep rejuvenation. This unique program also enhances overall health and well being of the new born through the specialised herbal baths and routines. 

Our postnatal care offerings include: 

Abhyanga (herbal oil massage)

for muscular recovery, involution of uterus, hormonal balance, and emotional calm

Udwarthanam (herbal powder massage)

to assist with weight management and body toning

Pinda Sweda

and herbal steam therapies for detoxification and improved circulation

Beauty therapies

like mukhabhyanga, mukhalepana, shashtika pinda sweda etc are used to bring back the tone and lustre of the skin and help to relieve stretch marks and blemishes.

Hair treatments

include daily head massages with medicated oils, hair packs and herbal decocotion wash followed by medicated fumigation.

Shirodhara

with herbal oils or medicated milk is used to reduce the stress and associated anziety issues and ensure deep relaxation

Specialized dietary plans

to increase stamina, aid digestion, and promote healthy breast milk production

Physiotherapy

sessions are provided by our expert physiotherapists to alleviate low back pain, neck and shoulder stiffness, improve abdominal and ore muscle strength

Baby massage

with medicated herbs in virgin coconut oil to enhance growth and neuro muscular development, improved metabolism and sleep, proper evacuation of urine and stool, and improvement in body weight.

Proper Assessment

of the mother and child as well as the sthanya pareeksha ( breast milk examination) is done prior to the initiation of the program. Guidelines for feeding and upbringing will be detailed.
